Tour the farms of the Midlands

4Y3A0915

Stormwater Studios will host an opening reception for the Ag & Art Tour.

The South Carolina Ag + Art Tour is the largest free farm and art tour in the nation, highlighting farms, markets, artists, and offering an opportunity to learn more about rural life. This weekend, several Midlands farms are opening for self-guided tours, so you can get a first-hand look at where your food is grown.

DYK: Richland County’s name comes from the “rich land” that supported hearty cotton and indigo farms through the 1800s, conveniently located on trade routes of our three rivers?

Though the industry has changed, local farms in Richland + Lexington counties help provide Certified SC foods to our local markets and keep fresher foods on our plates.

Hop in, and let’s take a look at the participating farms. 🛻

🐐 Richland County

  • Doko Farm, 2101 Cedar Creek Rd., Blythewood | Doko Farm produces fresh eggs, chicken + pork, and often sells at local farmer’s markets.
  • Fabel Farms, 1208 Hinnants Store Rd,, Winnsboro | Fabel Farms provides fresh produce to local restaurants like Market on Main + Di Vino Rosso.
  • Fox Hideaway Farm, 1822 St Matthew Church Rd., Eastover | Pet goats, horses, and donkeys, and play with baby ducklings and chicks.
  • Mill Creek Greenhouses, 2324 Leesburg Rd | Mill Creek focuses on hard-to-find + native plants.
  • Purple Tuteur Farm, 787 Langford Rd., Blythewood | From cosmos to anemone, Purple Tuteur grows fresh cut flowers sold at markets or delivered directly to your door.

🌻 Lexington County

  • Clinton Sease Farm, 382 Olde Farm Rd., Lexington | A destination for children to learn more about farming, Clinton Sease Farm offers hay rides + a corn maze.

Pro tip: The farm hosts sunflower weekends from June 17-26 showing off a variety of sunflower colors.

  • Fire Barrel Farm, 306 George Derrick Rd., Swansea | This goat dairy farm offers raw milk, honey from several bee hives, and classes so you can learn more about farming.
