Grab your party hats + favorite bottle of champagne (or sparkling grape juice) – there’s only 21 days until 2021. 🥂 While 2020 may not have been the year that most of us hoped for, we’re feeling extra cheerful for what’s to come and we’re kicking off the new year with the 10th anniversary of the Famously Hot New Year celebration – which has been adjusted to a virtual event.

We’re breaking down the details to help you ring in 2021 (and all of the brightness that is ahead) in true Cola fashion minus the large crowd. 🎆

Cue the celebratory mood and pick up a party pack before the event.

What’s better than celebratory swag? Free celebratory swag. Party packswhich include a reusable tote bag, neck gaiter, koozie, two champagne poppers, two party horns and two temporary tattoos – are available for free at 11 locations around Columbia.

Can’t make it to pick up a party pack? Download a virtual party pack with festive party favors that you can color yourself or download pre-colored.

Stream FHNY from the comfort of your living room (or bed, we aren’t judging).

No expensive streaming service required for this one – Famously Hot New Year will be available on the event’s homepage, Facebook page, YouTube + WLTX simulcast (from 11:35 p.m.-12:15 a.m.). The event begins at 10:30 p.m.

Jam to live performances + toast the new year with local celebrities.

Free performances will take place throughout the night from two-time Grammy-winning hip-hop and funk group Arrested Development, a special appearance by Hootie and the Blowfish, and performers from previous FHNY events, including Sister Hazel.

You may also notice a few familiar faces (A’ja Wilson, Charles Bolden + Dawn Staley, just to name a few) giving toasts before the clock strikes midnight.

Support FHNY’s partnership with Harvest Hope.

This year, Famously Hot New Year is benefitting Harvest Hope. If you’d like to donate to the food bank, there are three options – text FHNY to 44-321, online here, or drop off items at one of these locations.

Just can’t wait another 21 days for Famously Hot New Year? Check out the full schedule of events here + keep up to date on the event’s Instagram and Facebook pages.
