The mountains are calling, and I must go.

With the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains less than two hours away, there is no excuse not to escape Cola for some fresh mountain air on a fall weekend getaway during peak foliage season.

We picked out some Airbnbs – all within a few hours from Cola – with access to hiking, fire pits, cute mountain towns + pretty leaves. Pack up your flannels.

This weekend, Sam + I are heading out to my fav mountain vacation spot, Highlands, N.C., for Highlands Food and Wine Festival. Since in-town Airbnbs can be a bit pricey in Highlands, we found a cute cottage on Airbnb in Franklin, N.C. (~20 min. from downtown).

If you’re feeling inspired for a last-min trip after viewing all of these sweet mountain homes, there’s still tickets available for a few of Highlands Food and Wine Festival’s signature events – like Friday’s Truckin’ ft. six local food trucks, craft cocktails + live music and Saturday’s A Generous Pour ft. the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Follow along on our Instagram story this weekend as we hike, dine, sip n’ shop our way through the Highlands.
