The Clemson football 2017 season opens Sept. 2 with a game against Kent State, followed by a home game against Auburn (Sept. 9) and away games against Louisville (Sept. 16) + Virginia Tech (Sept. 30) – all in the first month.

So, the question is: How will the Tigers make this one a winning season without Watson, Williams, Gallman, Scott and Boulware?

Clemson football lost some key senior Tigers after the winning 2016 season but the team brought back a lot of talent + two new coaches to accompany Dabo Swinney this season: defensive line coach Todd Bates + safeties coach Mickey Conn. Plus, Hunter Renfrow (who made the championship-winning catch vs. ‘Bama) will have an even bigger role on the team.

But let’s be real. All the attention will be on whoever replaces Deshaun Watson, who was recently named ACC Male Athlete of the Year, as QB. Junior Kelly Bryant, redshirt freshman Zerrick Cooper + freshman Hunter Johnson are all battling for the position.

The Tigers’ D has a new leader to look out for: Junior Christian Wilkins will lead the defensive team (and is predicted to be the 2017 season Clemson MVP), along with freshman Dexter Lawrence + Clelin Ferrell.
