This is an installment of our quarterly COLAstyle series, featuring local style influencers and their fashion picks for the season.

You’ve packed up your sweaters, pulled out those trusty denim cutoffs (that you’ve had for a few seasons now), and have hung all of your (rather repetitive) sun dresses in your closet. Sure, what you’ve got could probably get you through the summer, but this season’s trends are so easy to incorporate into things you already have… why not fall victim? Here are my fave Summer 17 trends + where you can find them in Cola.

On… or off? // Yes, this trend popped up like two seasons ago… and yes, it’s still here. It’s safe to say people will be rocking off-the-shoulder tops + dresses all season long – so you might as well embrace it, too!

Copper Penny has the perfect “closet staple” version of this trend with their white Ella Moss top ($148), as well as a bolder “statement piece” by Christopher Sauvat ($179).

The season’s “It-Bag” // Natural fibers are no longer just for beach bags. Instantly add vacation vibes to any outfit by pairing it with a woven clutch.

Monkee’s has a bold take on the trend with their Rebecca Minkoff’s “Beach Hair Don’t Care” clutch ($145). The Blake has a more neutral take with a two-tone clutch by Kayu ($125). And Fab’rik, in Trenholm Plaza, offers a super cute option lined with colorful tassels ($28).

How low should ya go?! // Survey says around the calf, since super-feminine, midi-length dresses are having a moment right now.

Copper Penny in Five Points has a dreamy canary yellow Tibi dress ($450) at that length, perfect for any summer afternoon. The Blake, on Devine, has a slightly dressier take on the trend with a pale pink Halston design ($173).

Slideeeee! // Remember those slide-on shoes we all made fun of back in 8th grade? Well, they’re cool now. That’s because designers have started using materials much more glamorous than burlap for the straps.

Monkee’s has a pair of brown slides with a woven strap by Joie ($248), Fab’rik has a pair with gold straps ($18), and Copper Penny has a super fun pair by Melissa with glittery silver straps ($78).

Just add water. // Poms add vacation vibez to anything they’re attached to — and they’re being attached to EVERYTHING!

Ease into the trend with a black, white, or nude cover-up lined in colorful poms from Fab’rik ($26). Or, jump right in with gorgeous pom earrings by Sugar from The Blake ($80).

The perfect match. // Pairing blue + white is far from new, but this season, designers have added unexpected twists to the color combination.

The Blake has a sleek one-shoulder dress by YBF ($145) made of a striped denim and white material, while Fab’rik has a pair of lightweight, wide-legged pants with blue, white + grey stripes ($92).
