We’ve been hearing announcements on various developments around Cola – from new restaurants coming to Five Points and The Vista to new construction coming to Rosewood and the Bull Street District. In 2022, Cola’s business + economic development landscape will only continue to grow.

In case you skimmed over some of this groundbreaking news, here’s a quick re-cap.

  • 2901 Rosewood, 2901 Rosewood Dr., | Scheduled to begin opening fall 2022 | Located across from Publix in what was once Rosewood Church, the new development will soon be home to 9,407 sqft of commercial space + 52 apartment units. Look for the new Starbucks to open first, in June, 2022.
  • Bull Street District | Various projects to be completed in 2022 | By this time next year we’ll see a new skyline in the Bull Street District. Construction is underway for the WestLawn office building, parking garages, apartments, townhomes + Sanctuary Hood Hall. Already completed and open are REI, Starbucks, and the home to the Columbia Fireflies, Segra Park.
  • Flying Biscuit Five Points, 936 Harden St. | opening early 2022 | Flying Biscuit was the first restaurant named for the new Treadwell development that will cover nearly half the 900 block of Harden Street, across from Food Lion. Last month, the former location that housed El Burrito was razed with a new structure planned.
  • The Vista | Various projects to be completed in 2022 | We recently highlighted eight new changes coming to the Vista, including the new Cambria Hotel, Boku Kitchen and Saloon + the Green Street phase two improvement project. Scheduled to be complete in January, Phase two is part of an overall plan to open downtown Columbia to the Congaree Riverfront.

(Psst… This list isn’t meant to be comprehensive. If there is a construction project you’d like to share with us, send it our way. We love hearing about new developments + businesses.)
