Meet our 2 new restaurants 🍴

Hey, Columbia – you’re getting a Halls Chophouse. And a Home Team BBQ.

Halls

News just broke that Charleston-based Hall Management Group acquired The Oak Table (1221 Main St.) from (also CHS-based) Indigo Road Hospitality Group and will renovate the 4,500-sqft. space to become S.C.’s fourth Halls Chophouse.

The Oak Table will close; its last day open will be June 2. No opening date for Cola’s Halls Chophouse location was announced, but we’ll keep an eye out for ya.

Along with the restaurant space, Hall Management Group has leased the adjoining 4,500-sqft. space to develop as a special event venue for private dining, business meetings + other gatherings.

Home Team

On top of that, Five Points confirmed that Home Team BBQ is coming to the old Harper’s space on Harden Ave. The (again) Charleston-based barbecue + drinks spot is said to aim to open Winter 2018.

(Remember when some of you called for them to come there? Ask and you shall receive.)

“They are going to be a terrific addition to our community and the FPA plans to welcome them with open arms,” says Amy Beth Franks, Executive Director of the Five Points Association.

Halls is a crowd-favorite in Charleston, consistently listed as one of the best restaurants in the city, and people freaked out when it established a location in Greenville. Soon, Summerville’s location will open up.

Home Team is also an extremely successful Lowcountry-based operation, with locations in downtown Charleston, West Ashley + Sullivan’s Island, as well as Aspen, Co.

I’m personally a little sad to see Oak go, but I think people will be pumped about Halls. I hear they do a pretty bangin’ Gospel brunch on Sundays.

And I couldn’t be more excited about Home Team coming to the old Harper’s location. Their Sullivan’s location is my absolute favorite, with a beer garden-style patio that I think will replicate perfectly on the patio of the former Harper’s space.

I think this is huge food news for Columbia. It feels like a turning point. What do y’all think? Weigh in on the news about Halls and Home Team. Happy freakin’ Friday, dudes.
