Loads of character

Built in 1883, The Laundry once processed over 30,000 pieces of clothing per week for the South Carolina State Hospital. It’s now the oldest remaining service building on the 181-acre BullStreet campus.

Preservation meets purpose

Its transformation was led by Avant Holdings and Hughes Development Corporation, with architecture by Studio 2LR.

The result? A unique venue that features:

  • 8,000 sqft. of indoor space across two levels
  • Exposed rafters, historic brickwork, restored window frames
  • Bridal and groom suites, a catering prep area, and ADA access
  • The Grove — a large, shaded lawn perfect for outdoor ceremonies and receptions
