City Editor, Sam here. 👋 About a month ago, David and I attended Media Night at Village Idiot Pizza (2009 Devine St.). City Social brought members of the Cola media + influencers together and we were divided into random teams for a pizza-making challenge.

Think the Food Network show Chopped, but in Village Idiot’s iconic Five Points location.

The catch? Each team was required to use lentils as an ingredient. Click here to watch my team create a pizza masterpiece we called “Lentil Italy” that took first place in the challenge.

David wrote in a previous newsletter, “Consider this our official petition for Village Idiot to add the “Lentil Italy” to its specials menu.”

Well, it seems David’s wish came true. Village Idiot is making Lentil Italy the pizza of the month for October, so you can try it for yourself.

Ingredients:

  • Red sauce
  • Mozzarella
  • Chicken
  • Banana peppers
  • Bacon
  • Spinach
  • Olives
  • and (of course) a sprinkle of lentils
