Over the last 10 months companies have invested $445 million in Richland County, creating 2,275 jobs in the Midlands – the largest industrial boost since 1981.

Trane | Killian Rd. plant expansion | $96 million investment, 700 jobs

Jushi | Pineview Industrial Park | $300 million investment, 400 jobs

Hengshi | Pineview Industrial Park | $11.1 million investment, 48 jobs

LulaRoe | Blythewood | $35 million investment, at least 1,000 jobs

Why the sudden boom in Rich Co.?

📍 Location | Richland County is centralized (crisscrossed by three major interstates) for East Coast businesses, which creates quicker shipping times.

👶 Young people | With a median age of 32.7, Richland County is the youngest county in S.C. (And 205th youngest of 3,142 counties in the U.S.). Not to mention – UofSC + other county colleges contain 55,000 college students.

🙋‍ Untapped workforce | Ft. Jackson retires 75+ soldiers per month – people who typically look for civilian (non-military) jobs upon leaving.

But at the end of the day, with the county’s growing entertainment, dining + shopping districts, Columbia is just a cooler city [to do business].
