New year, new habits. Like putting an end to years of nicotine use. Lexington Medical Center can help with their free Smoking Cessation classes beginning this month – available to any member of the community looking to kick the bad habit for good.

The 8-week-long coursewhich will be held at various hospital locations around Lexington County – will meet once per week for two hours; led by trainees of the American Lung Association.

And it actually works: 55% of class members quit smoking for good after participating – much higher than the national average of 17-23%.

The first session begins Tuesday, Jan. 8 from 6-8 p.m. inside Lexington Medical Center (811 West Main St., Lexington).

Additional session dates + locations include:

March | Irmo

May | Lexington

July | West Columbia

September | Lexington and Batesburg-Leesville

Plus, your session doesn’t end when the 8-week class is over. For the first year, clinicians will check-up on each participant at 30-, 90-, 180- and 365-day intervals.

Participants must register in advance to attend the sessions. To register, call (803) 358-6180. 🚭
